Final Proofing DONE! Working on Art.

Old Kingdoms and Curses bookcover sketch on Toilet Seat

I'm about halfway through the Kickstarter campaign, and all is going well. I've used this opportunity of the middle of the campaign lull to work on the publishing aspects of the book, which gets very exciting.

I've finished the final proofing of the book, and am nearly done fitting the text into the final formated document, which looks very nice and is always a bit exciting.  Looking at the size of the actual text area of the page, I'm a bit surprised at how tall (and not wide) the area is to fit the illustrations in.  I did aim for a small, purse-sized book, but the size makes me a bit apprehensive about the illustrated timeline I must do.

I just got out of a meeting with artist Diane Hartman, the inspiration for me to begin writing again, to go to over the sketches for each of the stories.  After staying up late last night doing very rough versions, I'm so relieved that I don't have to do them myself...  I'm feeling very comfortable about where I'm at in the schedule of tasks, but still have much to do.

I've also commissioned a limited edition poster by cousin Jess Muller for a book and a message from this dude (spoiler: this is the Thank You Message that Kickstarter pledgers of the Charismatic Ambassador level get.)  I've asked her to do a nice, colored image of an original sketch I made for the cover before I found the awesome, inexpensive cover-image on istockphotos.  I'm very excited to see what she makes of it.

I'm going to start releasing more samplers of the book, a paragraph here and there as I go.

I'm regularly visiting facebook these days, actually responding to people (shock!) so give me a shout and I'll actually shout back!  I also post more updated on there as well.

Kickstarter Kicks off!

My Kickstarter campaign is finally kicking off.  I've worked tirelessly on it for the past few weekends, making a video, editing the text and creating little images to go around it.  Finally it's launched! Hazzah!

"What is that," you say?  Well, I'd like to take Kingdoms and Curses to a wider audience to build myself a fan-base for future writings.  I can create much of the ad material myself, but I'm hoping to put together in a bit more of a budget to reach more people.

I'm offering the book and more fun stuff at various pledge levels.

Kickstarter, doodling, and YOU!

Sketching Cartoons for my Kickstarter Video

I've been working on my text and video for a kickstarter campaign today and yesterday.

Along the way I mildly invited my facebook friends to like my page so I can get a custom URL on facebook.  If you've traveled all the way here from that little post, first of all you're awesome, but secondly I'm still developing much of the material on this website, so please give me some time before you tell others about it.  I'm not quite ready to launch anything public yet, but I'll let you know when I can use the boost.

Now on to doodling for a kickstarter promo video.  If I get anything scanned in, I'll display it for you.

Covers, Content and Updating

Kingdoms and Curses Book Cover

I spent last weekend wrestling with technology, transporting the website to the new domain name (due to the name change). With that out of the way, I'm now updating my social networking profiles.  I've nearly designed the cover and have laid out the book interior, minus the actual book which is still getting proofed.  I'm moving right along.

I've just update my images across various accounts to the display the cover image, verses the little doodles I was doing a few months ago.  I need to start my kick starter campaign soon, but I want to look over the material I wrote a few months back...

I want to do some video blogging again (technology has made it so much easier), but we'll see.

Happy Fourth!
