In my great quest to discover what to do next, my great editor and partner mentioned that I was lacking more in readers than in content, so perhaps I should spend my time focusing there… He’s right.
So here’s my summer plan, since July has already struck. I’m going back to polish the first three readings. They are the first, so they will be listened to more. Since they were my first readings, I don’t feel they were my best, and if they aren’t as good, then my chances of gaining a readership won’t be great. So this weekend I’m re-recording the audio of those readings with a better microphone. I’ll be adding ambient noises to them to fill the sound it a little better. And I’m also going out for a walk tomorrow to record walking footage for the readings, as I think listening to the story while hiking is a much more interesting format to the visual YouTube fans. I’m hoping that two grueling hot years playing flute runs while “marching” across a gopher holed field will help me learn steady the camera (phone).
After I nail those first few logs, and I reordered the first three paragraphs on “Day 3” to start it off leaping, I’m going to begin advertising in earnest, while researching the world of podcast (which may just require me asking my partner, who works for a radio station “what good podcasting sites are out there?”).
With advertising underway, and knowing the first three Raven Logs are the best I can do, I will then muddle through the process of editing and posting new content. So sit tight my one or two fans, new material will come out soon (as there is literally 150 pages of first draft material that not even the sun has seen the light of yet).
